Learn the very basics of quilting from correct tools to accurate piecing and even quilting your first quilt. We will be using the 3 Yard Quilts books so you may choose your desired quilt from the following books: 3-Yard Quilt Favorites, 3-Yards Quilts on the Double, Double Focus 3-Yard Quilts and Weekend 3-Yard Quilts. Choose your favorite design and purchase three fabrics in 1 1/4 yards each. The books are written for one yard pieces but as a beginner you will need a bit more in case of a mistake. Most of the quilts are around 41 x 55 so we will be making a lap size quilt. Because we are going to be quilting this quilt I would like to keep it on the small size so we can finish a quilt during this class. Also since everyone will be choosing a different pattern, you will have the opportunity to learns a variety of techniques that may not be in your particular quilt.

How come your quilt at the fair didn't bring home a ribbon? I've been asked several times to teach a class on bindings because it really is the little stuff that makes the quilt. Bindings can make or break your beautiful quilt. You will be making samples of many different techniques for binding so you will have your own reference when you choose your binding on your next quilt. Day and evening class dates available.

The coil rope round basket measures approximately 8-9” across the top and 2-2.5” tall or choose coil rope trinket set of 5 baskets (each basket would measure around 3” across and about 1” tall). Make it even more unique by using up fabric scraps from old projects! This is a sewing machine project. Your sewing machine will need a zigzag stitch. Kit available for purchase. Just bring a few scraps and we're ready to sew.
