         The Wedding Star pattern was designed for foundation paper piecing back in 1996 by Bradley and Judy Niemeyer. A few years ago Judy started teaching her students a new technique using strip piecing to complete the foundation piecing on the arcs. She also redesigned the stars with floating points.  A sewing technique called foundation paper piecing is used when sewing the pieces onto the foundation units. Curved piecing and traditional piecing skills are required to join the units after the foundation piecing is completed.

This quilt adds a curved illusion to a corner-square Log Cabin block. The cutting is easy, but it has some very small pieces.  The cureved illusion is accomplished simply with the use of squares and rectangles.  The sizes of the squares and rectangles can be changed to make any size quilt your looking for.  There are also many designs possibilities depending on how you lay out your blocks.  This is a fat quarter friendly quilts since you use many fabrics in dark and light values.  From the book "Judy Martin's Log Cabin Quilts Book".
