The Wedding Star pattern was designed for foundation paper piecing back in 1996 by Bradley and Judy Niemeyer. A few years ago Judy started teaching her students a new technique using strip piecing to complete the foundation piecing on the arcs. She also redesigned the stars with floating points. A sewing technique called foundation paper piecing is used when sewing the pieces onto the foundation units. Curved piecing and traditional piecing skills are required to join the units after the foundation piecing is completed.
Linda Tellesbo is a Judy Niemeyer certified instructor and will teach all the wonderful techniques that Judy Niemeyer is using in this pattern. You may also choose to make one of the other three quilts pictures below that share the sames techniques as the Bali Wedding Star. It's your choice! At registration, precutting instructions will be sent to you to be prepared for your class. Minimum 10 students. Pattern purchase required.
