If you have a desire to learn more about basic quiltmaking skills, any of the following classes will help to build your confident.

  • Just starting out

    We'll be using Alex Anderson's great new book which includes everything you need to know as a first-time quilter.  I've chosen to make the Nine-Patch Variation Quilt as our first project.  A photo will be posted soon on this website!  Alex guides you every step of the way as you learn to plan, cut, piece, quilt, and bind your quilt.  You can even choose what size you'd like to make:  wallhanging, twin, queen or king.

  • Raggy Log Cabin flannel quilt



    This is truly a quilt that can be made is a very short time.  Just sew the blocks, sew the blocks together and snip the edges.  Wash the quilt for frayed edges and your done!  This quilt is beautiful in two colors or a variety of scraps.  Requires no batting and make a warm and soft quilt to snuggle in.  Kids love this quilt!

  • Raggy Flannel Quilt


    This raggy edge flannel quilt can have a fun scrappy look or have a planned looked with specific placement of colors.  Just pick out your flannels, pre-cut your unwashed flannel and come to class.  No experience necessary to make this quilt.  We’ll discuss all the little helpful tips and techniques we have learned making these fuzzy quilts.  When the last seam is sewn, the quilt is done!  Makes a great kid’s quilt.

  • BEGINNING hAND APPLIQUE


    Many patterns are now including appliqué. Do you know how to appliqué or have you never enjoyed it? Come learn everything you need to know to become a hand appliqué artist. In this class, we’ll make the flower pattern shown. This simple flowing design will teach you bias stems, gentle curves and sharp points. You can do so many things with appliqué that you can’t with machine piecing! Learn the basics including transferring the pattern, marking tools and appliqué of points and curves. Pattern purchase required.

  • bindings - a few new ways!

    Wish your binding could looks so good?  Come learn all about perfect bindings and how easy they really are to make.  The newest thing on the market is adding a small piping to accent your binding.  So we going to throw pipings into this binding class and also teach how to make beautiful miter corners the traditional way and a really neat trick way (the new trick allows you to use different color bindings on each side!).  We'll even throw in a faux binding technique that is way cool.
