If you have a desire to learn more about basic quiltmaking skills, any of the following classes will help to build your confident.

START QUILTING WITH ALEX ANDERSON

We'll be using Alex Anderson's great book which includes everything you need to know as a first-time quilter. We've chosen to make all the blocks in the book which will make a wonderful sampler when completed.   Alex guides you every step of the way as you learn to plan, cut, piece, quilt, and bind your quilt. You can even choose what size you'd like to make: wallhanging, twin, queen or king. This is a start to finish class and requires 4 classes to complete your quilt with homework done at home between classes.

Jelly roll 1600" race

NO! We're not really doing a race but this a fun and fast quilt to make. Many customers have brought their quilts in to proudly show them off. All it takes is a jelly roll and a few hours of your time! This quilt has spread like wildfire on the internet so I thought it would be great fun to all get together and make one in our classroom. All you need to be able to do is sew a straight line. The rest is pure fun. Come join us and make a quilt top by the time you head home! One jelly roll makes a 50 x 64" quilt top approximately.

Many choices to place any fabric anywhere you wish.    This pattern has pockets all the way around the inside, with a cute little trim piece.  Two ruffled pockets on the front, and one ruffled pocket on the back.
    Instructions are included for using the panel or yardage. Choose from pieced or un-pieced side panels, instructions are included for both. Approx. 11 1/2" wide x 11" tall x 5" deep. I also used a new product called Soft & Stable in place of the batting and really love this new product.

beginning hand applique
Many patterns are now including appliqué. Do you know how to appliqué or have you never enjoyed it? Come learn everything you need to know to become a hand appliqué artist. In this class, we’ll make the flower pattern shown. This simple flowing design will teach you bias stems, gentle curves and sharp points. You can do so many things with appliqué that you can’t with machine piecing! Learn the basics including transferring the pattern, marking tools and appliqué of points and curves. Pattern purchase required.

bindings workshop

Six different ways to bind a quilt, including a faux piping. The emphasis is on a regular binding and two ways to cut a bias binding. This is a hands-on technique class with samples of each technique made in class.
